NBA Player, Maryland Native Ty Lawson Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

Denver Nuggets star point guard Ty Lawson was arrested for suspicion of DUI Thursday night in Denver (Jan. 22) after a police officer pulled him over for going 61 mph in a 35 mph zone and noted loss of balance, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and strong alcoholic odor on his breath . Lawson, who is originally from Maryland but attended high school in both Maryland and Virginia, has already had two alcohol related convictions dating back to his time in college at the University of North Carolina. Lawson, who currently leads the Nuggets in both points and assists per game, has yet to be disciplined by the team or the league.
