After facing manslaughter charges for the death of a bicyclist in a DUI crash, Maryland Episcopal Bishop Heather Cook has been defrocked and is no longer ordained by the Episcopal Church. Cook was serving as the assistant bishop for the Diocese of Maryland when she was involved in the Dec. accident that killed cyclist Tom Palermo. She is is facing 13 charges related to the accident including DUI, texting while driving, and leaving the scene of an accident.
