Former Gonzaga high school standout and current freshman quarterback at the University of Virginia Nick Johns is facing driving while intoxicated charges after being pulled over in Charlottesville with a blood-alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit. Johns was not practicing with the team and is set to appear in court on September 28th. His blood-alcohol content was reportedly 0.14 well above the 0.08 state wide legal limit.

Former Ravens’ Running Back DUI Updates
The jury trial of Bernard Pierce, former Ravens’ running back and current Jacksonville Jaguar player, is set on October 27th for his DUI case that took place in Maryland. After requesting a jury trial, Pierce’s case was transferred to the Baltimore County Circuit Court. Pierce was arrested on March 18th in Baltimore County for a DUI, and was released by the Ravens shortly after his arrest. Amid the DUI case, Pierce announced, “I made one mistake in my whole career, my whole life, and now I’m trying to build myself up.”
Sleeping Driver Charged with DUI in Maryland
Over the weekend, a Maryland driver was arrested by Cambridge police officers after they allegedly found him drunk and asleep behind the wheel. At 10:00 pm on Friday, officers responded to a report stating that there was a vehicle sitting in the intersection of Bayly Road and Race Street. After they arrived at the scene, the Police found Timothy Kline, 54, asleep in the driver’s seat behind the wheel. Kline was later arrested and is now facing DUI and other traffic related charges. His trial is pending.
Puddle of Mudd Frontman Arrested For DWI
Wes Scantlin, lead singer of Puddle of Mudd, was charged with a DWI in Minnesota on Sunday, July 26th. After spotting him speeding and subsequently not pulling over, police officers followed Scantlin on a 100 MPH car chase. The singer allegedly had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol once the police stopped him. When he was given a breathalyzer test, Scantlin scored a .310, which is four times the legal limit. Scantlin is currently charged with a DWI and fleeing a police officer, and is listed as an inmate at the Renville County Jail.
Man Driving The Wrong Way Charged With DUI
Law enforcement officers arrested a 40-year-old Baltimore male after they discovered him driving on the wrong side of the road. The charged individual, Hexag Franois, was taking into police custody on Sunday, July 19th, 2015, shortly after he was found driving on the wrong side on DuPont Highway. After smelling alcohol coming from the vehicle, Lt. Earl K. Brode administered field sobriety tests. Franois is also charged with drug paraphernalia possession, along with DUI and driving the wrong way on a one-way road. It is unsure if Franois has retained legal counsel.
Former Redskins Quarterback Donovan McNabb Charged For DUI
Former starting quarterback for the Eagles and Redskins and current Fox Sports analyst Donovan McNabb is facing charges of ‘extreme DUI’ after playing a role in a car accident last month in Arizona. McNabb allegedly had a blood alcohol percentage of 0.171% which is considered ‘extreme’ under Arizona law, and more than twice the legal state limit of 0.08.
This is McNabb’s second DUI related charge since 2014 and if convicted he will face between 90 days and 6 months in jail.
DUI and Gun Charges For Man In Severna Park MD
Following a traffic stop in Severna Park, law enforcement officers arrested James Francis Meyer, 32, for a driving under the influence (DUI) charge. Meyer was travelling east on Benfield Road at Lackland Road on a 1994 GMC Sonoma when the officers stopped him at around 11:30 pm on Sunday July 12, 2015. After smelling alcohol from the individual, the officers conducted field sobriety tests with the driver, which lead to Meyer being taken into custody. Officers also found a black Ruger LC9 pistol while searching Meyer’s vehicle. Meyer is currently facing DUI-related traffic charges and a criminal handgun charge.
Mom Charged With DUI After Hit-And-Run, Four Children In Car
Adrienne Young, 32, was charged with DUI on June 26 for allegedly committing a hit-and-run in Hendersonville, TN after taking opioid pills while driving with her four children. Young currently faces seven total charges, of which includes a second DUI. According to police records, Young began to cry after the officer informed of what the next steps are since she failed to perform a field sobriety test. Her four children that were involved in the wreckage are unharmed. Young is scheduled to appear in court on July 22.
DUI Suspect Wrecks Maserati, Offers To Kiss Officer’s Feet
A Florida man is facing DUI charges after causing $40,500 worth of damages after crashing his Maserati into two other vehicles and a utility pole. The man, 35-year old Gobind Singh allegedly admitted to drinking two beers and a shot of vodka before driving and asked the kiss the responding officer’s feet. Singh was already due in court on Tuesday for a 2013 DUI crash and is not facing three more counts of DUI in addition to damage of property charges.
Silver Spring Man Sentenced For DUI After 9 Years On The Run
A Maryland resident responsible for the death of a retired policeman in 2006 was finally sentenced Wednesday after spending the last nine years on the run. Wilfred Olalo received the maximum sentence and is set to serve 3 years and 60 days for the crash in addition to potentially another 5 years for skipping bond. Olalo was ordered in 2006 to surrender his passport, after pleading guilty to two charges related to the crash, but instead used it to flee to Kenya.
